The Future of Rainmaker

Since our launch in 2021, Rainmaker Games and our RAIN token have been committed to one mission: unlocking access to the world of blockchain gaming through one global platform.

Realizing this vision has always been core to us, but the product we’ve built to achieve this has changed several times. With each step we’ve gained insight, but one truth stands atop all other information we’ve gathered:

Rainmaker will never grow fast enough or large enough if we rely solely on other games to propel our platform forward.

Blockchain gaming as a whole is still very early. Between the 2-5 year development time required to make great games and the lacking number of high-quality blockchain games currently on market, we’ve quietly been building a new product that sets out to deliver on our mission in a new way.

Our solution is to build our own games while also building the tooling to allow others to do the same on our new product Arcade. It will join our existing Challenge game mode and Survivor game mode to be the third “game mode” on the Rainmaker platform.

We have ambitious plans for Arcade. Between our first several gaming titles already in final stages of development, to our creator program that provides AI tooling to aspiring game developers who wish to call our arcade platform home.

With this newfound path forward, we seek to establish a new economy within our platform featuring all new revenue streams, reward distribution, marketplaces, staking protocol and more. After much contemplation, we’ve came to the conclusion that an all-new token, DUEL, with its own tokenomics directly aligned with what we’re building is a better solution to making RAIN our primary currency.

However, we’d be nowhere without our current RAIN holders, so this litepaper also serves as an announcement to our token conversion event. All RAIN holders will be able to redeem DUEL during our token conversion event coming soon.

Your RAIN will be converted to DUEL at a 10M Fully Diluted Value (FDV) RAIN price. As of November 24th, this is a 3.06x multiple on its market rate. The full mechanics on the the swap, the coming token pre-sale, and full tokenomics and whitepaper which dives into how our new token will work in the platform will be set to be released December 1st, 2023 and the announcement for the date of then token conversion event will be announced the same week.

RAIN Token Conversion

With details on the swap, pre-sale, tokenomics and whitepaper coming soon, what is most important is to share that taking care of our most loyal community members is also our highest priority.

RAIN will be converted to DUEL at a $10,000,000.00 Fully Diluted Value (FDV) RAIN price.

This means no matter the market rate of RAIN, when you convert your RAIN to DUEL the value of RAIN will be considered as $0.01 token price.

(as of November 24th, at a price of $0.003268 this is a 3.06x multiple on the market price of RAIN)

The challenge game mode currently live on Rainmaker is for our users who wish to participate in skills-based wagers for some of the most popular multiplayer games. All challenges are user generated, users are guided through our fully customizable challenge creator tool, afterwards they can set an entry fee, who is eligible to join, how payouts are distributed among winners and even if they’d like to collect a creator fee for hosting the challenge. Rainmaker takes a 10% platform fee for all challenges and to date there has been 2698 challenges completed across our 52,250 registered users. Let’s take a look at some key features.

Choose from hundreds of challenge objectives

First look into the all-new Rainmaker platform

DUEL will now stand at the center of our 3 gaming products. For the 2 products already developed, Challenges and Survivor, we’ll explore what’s already been built and outline the product roadmap. For our third product with a December launch date, Arcade, we’ll take you behind the scenes w/ what are first 3 games are and explore its potential for the future.

Challenges: A World of Skilled Competition

Breakdown

Our challenge creator tool pulls right into the game publisher’s API and allows you to build a challenge around in-game objectives you’ve never though of before. For League of Legends alone there are over 120+ objectives spanning from pentakills to dodged skillshots to LP gained. Challenge your friends with DUEL or keep it a strictly for fun challenge by setting the entry fee to 0.

Host your own challenges and monetize through challenge creator fees

There are many settings you can use in our challenge creator tool, but one of the most recent features we’ve added that we’ve receive praise for is the ability to set a creator fee. In the same window you set an entry fee, users can set a creator fee to take a % of the total prize pool for hosting the challenge. This feature alone has contributed significantly to our growth as now dozens of gaming Discord server owners use our tool as a path to monetization while keeping their community engaged.

New Game Integrations

Currently on only League of Legends, our team has built the infrastructure to be able to integrate new games much faster for challenges and survivor game modes (now 1-2 weeks). After looking through the API documentation of our favorite games, we’ve opted to integrate the follow games by year’s end:

  • Valorant

  • TFT

  • DOTA 2

After this sprint, we have our sights set on other shooters, BRs and strategy games such as CS2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty: MW3 and chess.com.

The objective of the currently live survivor game mode is simple. Users at sign in will create a cute “poro” which they will name and choose a skin for. After doing this, they will be face with a series of 20 challenges. To progress each of the 20 levels and get to Valhalla (our poro hall of fame) our players much successfully complete each challenge (i.e. get 5 kills in your next game). A failure to do so means the tragic end to their poro.

When we debuted Survivor to our Challenge userbase it was a smash hit with over 50% day 14 retention, based on our user feedback out survivor game mode appeals to a more casual and less competitive player, but the gamification brings a “winning” feeling to multiplayer games where your teams are also responsible for a win or loss. Let’s check out some features.

World Creation

Survivor: The Ultimate Test of Endurance

Breakdown

Within survivor there are different “worlds” a player can join and each corresponds to different types of challenges. They function as filters for players who only want to play survivor with a certain match type in League of Legends or as a way to choose a “easy”, “medium” or “hard” difficulty. The most interesting thing of note however is almost all assets involved in world creation is made through generative AI. Our team currently creates worlds ourselves, but in the future we, like challenges, seek to create a “world creator tool” that allows for UGC.

Items / Consumables

Unlike Challenges, Survivor is not a “play-and-earn” type of game. The simple enjoyment of progressing through levels while being strategic with your gameplay so your furry companion can stay by your side is the main driver. Users, if they need a boost, can also purchase items which boost their score over a certain threshold to not fail a level or instead buy hearts to have a buffer if a game doesn’t go as planned and the challenge is failed. A completely different path to monetization, we’re thoroughly impressed on how often out users pay for such items throughout their gameplay.

New Game Integrations

Like challenges, the path to scalability of our survivor product depends on making survivor worlds user-generated. With this source of evergreen content, our Survivor team can be freed to improve up the “world creator tool” which makes the UGC while also integrating new games. Currently only on League of Legends, the survivor game mode also benefits from the infrastructure overhaul our team built that will allow the challenge game mode to integrate games faster, thus the following games will be included by year’s end:

  • Valorant

  • TFT

  • DOTA 2

After this sprint, we have our sights set on other shooters, BRs and strategy games such as CS2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty: MW3 and chess.com.

Arcade: A Universe of Gaming Options

Breakdown

The Arcade game mode coming to the rainmaker platform is something we’re beyond excited for. It marks the first step towards our own first-party games and gives us more control of the gaming experience for all of our users. The go to market strategy is to our arcade to launch as a suite of browser-based games playable on desktop and mobile. As the world shifts to a short-form content society, the game types which are positioned for the most growth are those that are:

  • “Pick-up-and-play” in nature

  • Tight core game loops that keep today’s fleeting attention

  • An perpetual source of novel game experiences

History repeats as we go back to the future for the next-phase of gaming, the arcade.

Arcade Creator Program

One of our most exciting new features we’re building in tandem with our arcade game mode is the creator program. From asset creation to Unity logic, we’ve engineered most of workflow to incorporate AI tools to help us make our first 3 games. With aims to release this feature at the mid-point of 2024, we will build an AI toolkit that accompanies the creator program and lowers the barrier of entry to building a game in Arcade.

A creator program wouldn’t be complete without ample monetization for our creators. A robust revenue share plan will be revealed at the time of our whitepaper release soon.
